In case you’re wondering, that’s Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, not me

“I must have a prodigious quantity of mind; it takes me as much as a week sometimes to make it up.”

-Mark Twain, “The Innocents Abroad”

Dear reader,

Welcome to my humble piece of real estate in the virtual world. I’m a writer, and my name is LJ.

You’ve reached this page with the hopes of understanding the raison d’etre of this blog (and no, it’s not about hallucinogens).

To be completely honest with you, this pet project started with less nobler motives; number one – I wanted to force myself into the habit of writing more frequently. Number two – I wanted to chronicle my intellectual and spiritual journey, by trying to climb and stand on the shoulders of the giants. And that’s it, that’s all about me.

Now let’s talk about you instead, why I’m sharing this with you. Einstein once remarked that if you can’t explain something to a six-years old, then you haven’t understood it yourself. Although I believe you’re older than six  (forgive me if I’m wrong here), the principle remains the same; if I’m not able to explain things to you, then I either haven’t understood them myself or I simply suck at writing (although personally speaking, I prefer former to the latter).

More importantly though, everyone wants to become better than who they were yesterday. I believe you and I are not exclusions to this truth as well. So let me help you the best way I can, little by little.

So that’s pretty much it about this blog. So far, it’s been one-sided conversation (I sincerely hope I didn’t bore you). I look forward to you having your say too, either through comments on the posts, social media, or emails (see the contact section).

Happy Reading!
